How have you benefited from using the Career Center services?

The Career Center has really helped me prepare for my future by aiding me with graduate school applications, resume building, cover letters, and mock interviews.

How did working with the Career Center impact your internship/job search?

The Career Center impacted my graduate school applications in a very positive way. Being able to go through my resume and personal statement helped me to be have a well-rounded application, and also prepared me for future job applications. I was confident in submitting my application after my Career Consultant had reviewed everything with me.

What was the most helpful advice given to you by the Career Center?

The most helpful advice given to me by the Career Center was the resume advice I received. With resume formatting changing often it was great to stay on top of the trends over the past few years.

What challenges were you facing and how did the Career Center help you solve them or motivate you to solve them?

Challenges that I faced included finding ways to tailor my resume for each application process. The Career Center helped me to organize my ideas and provided me with formatting information to greatly improve my resume.

What advice would you give others facing the same challenges you did?

Advice that I received that I would give to others would be to keep a master list of everything you have done during your time in college. That way you can easily make individual resumes that will fit each application.

Where there any specific events you went to that were beneficial? If so which one and why was it helpful?

I completed a recorded mock interview through the Career Center that was extremely beneficial. I had not done something like that before and it was great to be able to watch how I respond during interviews in order to make improvements in the future. I feel much more prepared to complete interviews after this event.
